The Langston Hughes Panthers (Fairburn, GA) basketball edged the host Sandy Creek Patriots (Tyrone, GA), 56-50 in Saturday's non-league bout.

The Panthers now possess a 5-0 record. They play next when they travel to Lovejoy for a AAAAA Region 3 bout on Tuesday, December 10. Langston Hughes will play a Wildcats team coming off a 41-13 non-league loss to Mundy's Mill (Jonesboro, GA). The Wildcats record now stands at 4-3.

With the loss, Sandy Creek falls to 4-2 on the campaign. The Patriots host Upson-Lee (Thomaston, GA) to play the Knights in a AAA Region 2 bout on Tuesday, December 10. The Knights go into the bout with a record of 2-1. Upson-Lee won 47-19 in their recent league bout against Whitewater (Fayetteville, GA)
