The Carmel Christian Cougars basketball team scored 61 points and held the visiting South Charlotte Thunder Thunder to 42 in the Cougars non-league triumph on Thursday.

The Cougars now sport a 2-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Porter Ridge for a non-league contest on Friday, December 9. Carmel Christian will battle a Pirates team coming off a 44-41 non-league loss to Ardrey Kell (Charlotte, NC). The Pirates record now stands at 1-3.

The Thunder (3-6) will now prepare for their contest against Covenant Day (Matthews, NC). The Lions enter the non-league contest with a 0-2 record. In their last contest, Covenant Day was defeated by Corvian Community (Charlotte, NC), 58-11, in a non-league contest.
