Alleghany Cougars (Covington, VA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Rockbridge County Wildcats (Lexington, VA), 61-54 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Alleghany upgrades its record to 2-1 on the season. The Cougars host Lord Botetourt (Daleville, VA) to clash with the Cavaliers in a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 12. The Cavaliers go into the bout with a record of 2-2. Lord Botetourt lost 68-59 in their recent non-league bout against Floyd County (Floyd, VA)

Next up, the Wildcats clash with the Broadway Gobblers (Broadway, VA) in a Valley bout, on Tuesday, December 12. Rockbridge County will attempt to upgrade on its 0-4 season record.
