In Friday's league match, the visiting Vela Sabercats basketball team scored a good 48-33 triumph over the McAllen Memorial Mustangs.

In their next game, the Sabercats meet the Sharyland Rattlers (Mission, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 31 match, on Tuesday, December 12. Vela will attempt to move on its 16-3 season record.
