Auburn Eagles (Riner, VA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Galax Maroon Tide (Galax, VA), 22-21 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Auburn upgrades its record to 2-1 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Giles (Pearisburg, VA) to play the Spartans in a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 12. The Spartans come into the bout with a record of 2-0. Giles won 62-9 in their recent non-league bout against Eastern Montgomery (Elliston, VA)

Next up, the Maroon Tide play the Graham G-Men (Bluefield, VA) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, December 13. Galax will attempt to upgrade on its 1-2 season record. The G-Men come into the bout with a 1-2 record after their 37-15 non-league loss to George Wythe (Wytheville, VA).
