Giles Spartans (Pearisburg, VA) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Galax Maroon Tide (Galax, VA), 30-29 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Giles upgrades its record to 14-3 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to George Wythe (Wytheville, VA) to play the Maroons in a non-league bout on Saturday, February 10. The Maroons come into the bout with a record of 16-0.
