The Neshoba Central Rockets (Philadelphia, MS) basketball knocked off the host Newton County Cougars (Decatur, MS), 52-43 in Friday's non-league test.

The Rockets (12-2) will now prepare for their test against Northeast Lauderdale (Meridian, MS). The Trojans go into the non-league test with a 5-3 record.

The Cougars now own a 1-1 record. They play next when they travel to Laurel for a non-league test on Saturday, December 10. Newton County will encounter a Golden Tornadoes squad coming off a 65-45 non-league win over Heidelberg (Heidelberg, MS). The Golden Tornadoes record now stands at 2-2.
