In Monday's league contest, the visiting Starmount Rams basketball team scored a big 58-37 triumph over the Alleghany Trojans.

The Rams (15-8) will now prepare for their contest against East Wilkes (Ronda, NC). The Cardinals go into the 1A Northwest contest with a 9-12 record. In their last contest, East Wilkes smashed North Stokes (Danbury, NC), 44-34, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Trojans confront the Mount Airy Granite Bears (Mount Airy, NC) in a 1A Northwest contest, on Friday, February 14. Alleghany will attempt to better on its 4-17 season record. The Granite Bears go into the contest with a 8-12 record after their 60-25 non-league loss to North Surry (Mount Airy, NC).
