West Virginia High School Basketball - Liberty routed by Petersburg
February 10, 2025: Clarksburg, WV 26301 Petersburg Vikings (Petersburg, WV) supporters left the game satisfied Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad triumph over the host Liberty Mountaineers (Clarksburg, WV), 82-29 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Petersburg advances its record to 9-9 on the year. The Vikings host Tucker County (Hambleton, WV) to face the Mountain Lions in a Potomac Valley match on Friday, February 14. The Mountain Lions enter the match with a record of 12-5. Tucker County won 58-40 in their recent league match against Tygarts Valley (Mill Creek, WV)
The Mountaineers now own a 1-14 record. They put it on the line next when they host Braxton County for a non-league match on Saturday, February 15. Liberty will face a Eagles squad coming off a 46-27 non-league loss to Wirt County (Elizabeth, WV). The Eagles record now stands at 5-11.
