The McMinn County Cherokees (Athens, TN) basketball edged the visiting Rhea County Golden Eagles (Evensville, TN), 73-67 in Tuesday's league bout.

The Cherokees now possess a 15-10 record. They play next when they host Walker Valley for a 4A District 5 bout on Friday, February 14. McMinn County will play a Mustangs team coming off a 90-61 non-league win over McMinn Central (Englewood, TN). The Mustangs record now stands at 23-3.
