The Ashley Screaming Eagle basketball squad (Wilmington, NC), was nudged 59-56 in Tuesday's league battle with the visiting Topsail Pirates (Hampstead, NC)

With the victory, Topsail advances its record to 17-6 on the year. The Pirates host Laney (Wilmington, NC) to meet the Buccaneers in a 3A/4A Mideastern battle on Thursday, February 13. The Buccaneers enter the battle with a record of 12-9. Laney won 51-41 in their recent league battle against North Brunswick (Leland, NC)

The Screaming Eagle now own a 9-14 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to North Brunswick for a 3A/4A Mideastern battle on Thursday, February 13. Ashley will meet a Scorpions squad coming off a 51-41 league loss to Laney (Wilmington, NC). The Scorpions record now stands at 3-16.
