Gayville-Volin Raiders (Gayville, SD) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Avon Pirates (Avon, SD), 55-52 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Gayville-Volin upgrades its record to 9-8 on the season. The Raiders host Freeman (Freeman, SD) to play the Flyers in a B Region 4 bout on Thursday, February 15. The Flyers go into the bout with a record of 12-6. Freeman lost 49-45 in their recent non-league bout against Ethan (Ethan, SD)

Next up, the Pirates play the Kimball/White Lake Wildkats (Kimball, SD) in a non-league bout, on Friday, February 16. Avon will attempt to upgrade on its 3-13 season record. The Wildkats go into the bout with a 4-15 record after their 54-41 non-league loss to Andes Central/Dakota Christian (Lake Andes, SD).
