In Tuesday's non-league match, the host Watauga Pioneers basketball team scored a tight 53-49 triumph over the Freedom Patriots.

In their next game, the Pioneers meet the Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC) in a non-league match, on Friday, February 16. Watauga will attempt to move on its 12-6 season record. The Huskies enter the match with a 6-11 record after their 57-43 league loss to South Caldwell (Hudson, NC).
