The Marshall Mavericks tipped the visiting Elysian Fields Yellowjackets softball team by a final score of 4-3 in Friday's non-league battle.

The Mavericks now possess a 4-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host New Boston for a non-league battle on Saturday, February 14. Marshall will confront a Lions team coming off a 15-3 non-league loss to Jefferson (Jefferson, TX). The Lions record now stands at 0-3.

With the loss, Elysian Fields falls to 4-2 on the year. The Yellowjackets host Kilgore (Kilgore, TX) to meet the Bulldogs in a non-league challenge on Saturday, February 14.
