The Marshall Mavericks overwhelmed the host Elysian Fields Yellowjackets softball squad by a count of 6-0 in Saturday's non-league challenge.

Next, the Mavericks meet the Lufkin Panthers (Lufkin, TX) in a 5A Region II District 10 battle, on Tuesday, March 3. Marshall will attempt to move on its 11-6 season record. The Panthers come into the battle with a 6-10 record after their 5-1 non-league win over Groesbeck (Groesbeck, TX).

With the loss, Elysian Fields moves to 11-8 on the season. The Yellowjackets travel to Overton (Overton, TX) to confront the Mustangs in a 2A Region III District 19 battle on Tuesday, March 3.
