Blaine Bengals (Blaine, MN) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Coon Rapids Cardinals (Coon Rapids, MN), 87-83 in a league bout.

With the victory, Blaine upgrades its record to 7-16 on the campaign. The Bengals travel to Elk River (Elk River, MN) to play the Elks in a non-league bout on Tuesday, February 20. The Elks come into the bout with a record of 3-19. Elk River lost 79-58 in their recent league bout against Sauk Rapids-Rice (Sauk Rapids, MN)

Next up, the Cardinals play the Centennial Cougars (Circle Pines, MN) in a AAAA Section 7 bout, on Friday, February 16. Coon Rapids will attempt to upgrade on its 10-11 season record.
