The Athens Warriors (Athens, IL) basketball edged the visiting Illini Central Cougars (Mason City, IL), 29-22 in Friday's league bout.

The Warriors now possess a 13-16 record. They play next when they host Olympia for a Sangamo bout on Tuesday, February 18. Athens will play a Spartans team coming off a 58-39 league loss to Pleasant Plains (Pleasant Plains, IL). The Spartans record now stands at 8-17.

With the loss, Illini Central falls to 14-13 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Illini Bluffs (Glasford, IL) to play the Tigers in a Tomahawk bout on Monday, February 17. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 20-7.
