James River Knights (Buchanan, VA) supporters left the game happy Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the visiting Alleghany Cougars (Covington, VA), 42-37 in a league match.

With the victory, James River advances its record to 18-3 on the year. The Knights host Floyd County (Floyd, VA) to face the Buffaloes in a Three Rivers match on Monday, February 17. The Buffaloes enter the match with a record of 7-13. Floyd County won 64-49 in their recent league match against Radford (Radford, VA)

The Cougars now own a 14-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Radford for a non-league match on Monday, February 17. Alleghany will face a Bobcats squad coming off a 53-39 league win over Glenvar (Salem, VA). The Bobcats record now stands at 9-9.
