In Friday's non-league contest, the host Calhoun County Cougars basketball team scored a close 46-45 triumph over the Pelham Hornets.

The Cougars (15-10) will now prepare for their contest against Johnson County (Wrightsville, GA). The Trojans go into the non-league contest with a 16-5 record. In their last contest, Johnson County was tipped by Hancock Central (Sparta, GA), 57-52, in a non-league contest.
