In Friday's league contest, the host Metlakatla Chiefs basketball team scored a close 44-40 triumph over the Craig Panthers.

The Chiefs (15-3) will now prepare for their contest against Craig (Craig, AK). The Panthers go into the 2A Southeast contest with a 14-3 record. In their last contest, Craig nipped Skagway (Skagway, AK), 57-42, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Panthers battle the Metlakatla Chiefs (Metlakatla, AK) in a 2A Southeast contest, on Saturday, February 15. Craig will attempt to better on its 14-5 season record. The Chiefs go into the contest with a 13-3 record after their 31-24 league win over Petersburg (Petersburg, AK).
