Devils Lake Firebirds (Devils Lake, ND) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the host Wahpeton Huskies (Wahpeton, ND), 71-48 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Devils Lake upgrades its record to 19-3 on the campaign. The Firebirds host Thompson (Thompson, ND) to play the Tommies in a A Region 2 bout on Friday, February 23. The Tommies come into the bout with a record of 11-8. Thompson won 61-44 in their recent league bout against Hillsboro/Central Valley (Buxton, ND)

Next up, the Huskies play the Standing Rock Warriors (Fort Yates, ND) in a non-league bout, on Monday, February 19. Wahpeton will attempt to upgrade on its 12-6 season record. The Warriors come into the bout with a 10-9 record after their 53-41 non-league win over McLaughlin (McLaughlin, SD).
