New Mexico High School Basketball - Sandia over La Cueva
February 16, 2024: Albuquerque, NM 87110 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Sandia Matadors (Albuquerque, NM) and the visiting La Cueva Bears (Albuquerque, NM), saw Sandia's basketball squad overcome La Cueva by a tally of 59-44.
With the victory, Sandia improves its record to 21-3 on the campaign. The Matadors host Piedra Vista (Farmington, NM) to confront the Panthers in a 5A District 2 challenge on Tuesday, February 20. The Panthers come into the challenge with a record of 10-14. Piedra Vista lost 40-28 in their recent league challenge against West Mesa (Albuquerque, NM)
Next up, the Bears confront the Farmington Scorpions (Farmington, NM) in a 5A District 2 challenge, on Tuesday, February 20. La Cueva will attempt to improve on its 17-7 season record. The Scorpions come into the challenge with a 21-3 record after their 72-68 league loss to Eldorado (Albuquerque, NM).
