Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Mt. Shasta Bears (Mt. Shasta, CA) and the host Portola Tigers (Portola, CA), saw Mt. Shasta's basketball squad hold off Portola by a tally of 78-74.

With the victory, Mt. Shasta improves its record to 14-12 on the campaign. The Bears travel to Weed (Weed, CA) to confront the Cougars in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, February 22. The Cougars come into the challenge with a record of 21-5. Weed won 64-46 in their recent non-league challenge against Fall River (McArthur, CA)
