February 17, 2024: Stanton, KY 40380 Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Powell County Pirates (Stanton, KY) and the visiting Model Patriots (Richmond, KY), saw Powell County's basketball squad overcome Model by a tally of 75-59.
With the victory, Powell County improves its record to 14-13 on the campaign. The Pirates travel to Buckhorn (Buckhorn, KY) to confront the Wildcats in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, February 20. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a record of 10-21. Buckhorn lost 79-50 in their recent non-league contest against Letcher County Central (Whitesburg, KY)
The Patriots (10-18) will now prepare for their contest against Rockcastle County (Mt. Vernon, KY). The Rockets come into the non-league contest with a 16-11 record. In their last contest, Rockcastle County prevailed over Pulaski County (Somerset, KY), 54-53, in a league contest.
