New Mexico High School Basketball - Tularosa tops Capitan
February 17, 2024: Capitan, NM 88316 Fans at Saturday's league challenge between the Tularosa Wildcats (Tularosa, NM) and the host Capitan Tigers (Capitan, NM), saw Tularosa's basketball squad knock off Capitan by a count of 44-27.
With the victory, Tularosa upgrades its record to 18-6 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Mescalero Apache (Mescalero, NM) to play the Chiefs in a 2A District 3 challenge on Tuesday, February 20. The Chiefs come into the challenge with a record of 8-12. Mescalero Apache lost 65-31 in their recent league challenge against Lordsburg (Lordsburg, NM)
Next up, the Tigers play the Cloudcroft Bears (Cloudcroft, NM) in a 2A District 3 challenge, on Thursday, February 22. Capitan will attempt to upgrade on its 9-16 season record. The Bears come into the challenge with a 5-17 record after their 61-34 league loss to Lordsburg (Lordsburg, NM).
