Melrose Buffaloes (Melrose, NM) boosters left the game satisfied Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad notch a victory over the host Texico Wolverines (Texico, NM), 44-36 in a non-league match.

With the victory, Melrose upgrades its record to 21-3 on the year. The Buffaloes host Floyd (Floyd, NM) to face the Broncos in a A District 4 match on Tuesday, February 18. The Broncos enter the match with a record of 5-13. Floyd won 35-22 in their recent league match against Lake Arthur (Lake Arthur, NM)

The Wolverines now sport a 16-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Jal for a 2A District 4 match on Tuesday, February 18. Texico will face a Panthers squad coming off a 62-39 league loss to Eunice (Eunice, NM). The Panthers record now stands at 10-14.
