In Thursday's non-league contest, the host Melrose Buffaloes basketball team scored a big 51-12 triumph over the Hagerman Bobcats.

The Buffaloes (1-0) will now prepare for their contest against Mountainair (Mountainair, NM). The Mustangs go into the non-league contest with a 1-1 record. In their last contest, Mountainair smashed Santa Fe Prep (Santa Fe, NM), 45-20, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Bobcats confront the Dora Coyotes (Dora, NM) in a non-league contest, on Thursday, December 12. Hagerman will attempt to improve on its 1-1 season record. The Coyotes come into the challenge with a 1-0 record after their 55-25 non-league win over Cloudcroft (Cloudcroft, NM).
