Michigan High School Basketball - Covenant Christian can't hold off Wayland
February 18, 2025: Wayland, MI 49348 Wayland Wildcats (Wayland, MI) supporters left the game satisfied Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad nudge the visiting Covenant Christian Chargers (Grand Rapids, MI), 54-47 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Wayland advances its record to 13-6 on the year. The Wildcats travel to South Christian (Grand Rapids, MI) to face the Sailors in a Ottawa-Kent - Gold match on Friday, February 21. The Sailors enter the match with a record of 19-2. South Christian won 49-28 in their recent non-league match against Northview (Grand Rapids, MI)
The Chargers now own a 7-12 record. They put it on the line next when they host Zeeland West for a non-league match on Friday, February 21. Covenant Christian will face a Dux squad coming off a 36-34 league win over Zeeland East (Zeeland, MI). The Dux record now stands at 15-4.
