Texas High School Basketball - Hale Center can't hold off New Deal
February 2, 2024: New Deal, TX 79350 The New Deal Lions basketball team scored 61 points and restricted the visiting Hale Center Owls to 57 in the Lions league victory on Friday.
The Lions now sport a 8-19 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Sudan for a 2A Region I District 4 contest on Tuesday, February 6. New Deal will battle a Hornets team coming off a 65-36 league win over Smyer (Smyer, TX). The Hornets record now stands at 12-10.
The Owls (20-8) will now prepare for their contest against Lockney (Lockney, TX). The Longhorns come into the 2A Region I District 4 contest with a 7-15 record. In their last contest, Lockney was nudged by Olton (Olton, TX), 63-37, in a league contest.
