February 2, 2024: Culver, MN 55779 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the McGregor Mercuries (McGregor, MN) and the host South Ridge Panthers (Culver, MN), saw McGregor's basketball squad hold off South Ridge by a tally of 67-60.
With the victory, McGregor improves its record to 5-12 on the campaign. The Mercuries travel to East Central (Sandstone, MN) to play the Eagles in a non-league challenge on Monday, February 5. The Eagles come into the challenge with a record of 14-6. East Central won 69-50 in their recent non-league challenge against Hinckley-Finlayson (Hinckley, MN)
Next up, the Panthers play the Mesabi East Giants (Aurora, MN) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, February 6. South Ridge will attempt to improve on its 2-17 season record. The Giants come into the challenge with a 7-10 record after their 67-35 non-league win over Floodwood (Floodwood, MN).
