Virginia High School Basketball - Rockbridge County nips Turner Ashby
February 2, 2024: Lexington, VA 24450 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Rockbridge County Wildcats (Lexington, VA) and the visiting Turner Ashby Knights (Bridgewater, VA), saw Rockbridge County's basketball squad hold off Turner Ashby by a tally of 67-66.
With the victory, Rockbridge County improves its record to 3-20 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to William Monroe (Stanardsville, VA) to play the Dragons in a Valley challenge on Tuesday, February 6. The Dragons come into the challenge with a record of 13-7. William Monroe lost 70-39 in their recent league challenge against Harrisonburg (Harrisonburg, VA)
Next up, the Knights play the Spotswood Trailblazers (Penn Laird, VA) in a Valley challenge, on Tuesday, February 6. Turner Ashby will attempt to improve on its 5-16 season record. The Trailblazers come into the challenge with a 20-0 record after their 53-48 non-league win over Patrick Henry (Roanoke, VA).
