Virginia High School Basketball - William Monroe tops Rockbridge County
January 12, 2024: Lexington, VA 24450 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the William Monroe Dragons (Stanardsville, VA) and the host Rockbridge County Wildcats (Lexington, VA), saw William Monroe's basketball squad knock off Rockbridge County by a count of 62-44.
With the victory, William Monroe upgrades its record to 10-4 on the campaign. The Dragons travel to Spotswood (Penn Laird, VA) to play the Trailblazers in a Valley challenge on Tuesday, January 16. The Trailblazers come into the challenge with a record of 14-0. Spotswood won 73-43 in their recent non-league challenge against Liberty Christian (Lynchburg, VA)
Next up, the Wildcats play the Parry McCluer Fighting Blues (Buena Vista, VA) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, January 13. Rockbridge County will attempt to upgrade on its 2-12 season record. The Fighting Blues come into the challenge with a 10-3 record after their 84-46 league win over Craig County (New Castle, VA).
