New Mexico High School Basketball - Gallup thwarts Shiprock
February 20, 2025: Shiprock, NM 87420 The crowd at Thursday's league challenge between the Gallup Bengals (Gallup, NM) and the host Shiprock Chieftains (Shiprock, NM), observed Gallup's basketball team knock off Shiprock by a score of 58-38.
The Bengals (23-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Aztec (Aztec, NM). The Tigers come into the 4A District 1 challenge with a 12-13 record. In their last challenge, Aztec dropped by Kirtland Central (Kirtland, NM), 74-33, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the Chieftains encounter the Miyamura Patriots (Gallup, NM) in a 4A District 1 challenge, on Saturday, February 22. Shiprock will attempt to improve on its 11-14 season record. The Patriots come into the challenge with a 1-24 record after their 49-43 league loss to Bloomfield (Bloomfield, NM).
