February 23, 2025: Hinesburg, VT 05461 The crowd at Sunday's league challenge between the Champlain Valley Union Redhawks (Hinesburg, VT) and the visiting Rice Memorial Green Knights (South Burlington, VT), observed Champlain Valley Union's basketball team overwhelm Rice Memorial by a score of 74-26.
The Redhawks (13-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Bellows Free Academy (St. Albans, VT). The Bobwhites/Comets come into the Metro challenge with a 9-13 record. In their last challenge, Bellows Free Academy was routed by St. Johnsbury Academy (St. Johnsbury, VT), 52-40, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the Green Knights encounter the Essex Hornets (Essex Junction, VT) in a Metro challenge, on Monday, February 24. Rice Memorial will attempt to improve on its 0-17 season record. The Hornets come into the challenge with a 10-9 record after their 52-49 non-league win over Mt. Mansfield (Jericho, VT).
