New Underwood Tigers (New Underwood, SD) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Jones County Coyotes (Murdo, SD), 48-46 in a league bout.

With the victory, New Underwood upgrades its record to 8-12 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Philip (Philip, SD) to play the Scotties in a non-league bout on Tuesday, February 28. The Scotties come into the bout with a record of 16-4. Philip won 58-31 in their recent league bout against Kadoka (Kadoka, SD)

Next up, the Coyotes play the Wall Eagles (Wall, SD) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, February 28. Jones County will attempt to upgrade on its 11-9 season record. The Eagles come into the bout with a 10-10 record after their 85-56 non-league loss to Faith (Faith, SD).
