The Kiowa Indians (Kiowa, CO) basketball nipped the visiting Genoa-Hugo/Karval Pirates (Hugo, CO), 52-45 in Saturday's non-league test.

The Indians (15-6) will now prepare for their test against Nucla (Nucla, CO). The Mustangs go into the non-league test with a 9-11 record. In their last test, Nucla was tipped by De Beque (De Beque, CO), 35-32, in a non-league test.

The Pirates now own a 7-15 record. They play next when they travel to Eads for a non-league test on Friday, March 1. Genoa-Hugo/Karval will encounter a Eagles squad coming off a 37-20 non-league loss to Kit Carson (Kit Carson, CO). The Eagles record now stands at 15-7.
