The South Mecklenburg Sabres softball squad (Charlotte, NC), was routed 17-1 in Tuesday's non-league contest with the host Independence Patriots (Charlotte, NC)

With the triumph, Independence improves its record to 1-0 on the year. The Patriots travel to Weddington (Matthews, NC) to face the Warriors in a non-league contest on Wednesday, February 26. The Warriors enter the contest with a record of 1-0. Weddington won 1-0 in their recent non-league contest against Kings Mountain (Kings Mountain, NC)
