In Wednesday's league test, the Bunker Hill Bears (Claremont, NC) softball squad overwhelmed the host Hickory Red Tornadoes (Hickory, NC), by a count of 20-4.

Next, the Bears meet the Maiden Blue Devils (Maiden, NC) in a Western Foothills 3A outing, on Friday, February 27. Bunker Hill will attempt to move on its 1-0 season record. The Blue Devils come into the outing with a 0-1 record after their 14-1 league loss to North Lincoln (Lincolnton, NC).

With the loss, Hickory moves to 0-1 on the season. The Red tornadoes travel to Newton-Conover (Newton, NC) to encounter the Red Devils in a Western Foothills 3A outing on Friday, February 27. The Red Devils come into the outing with a record of 0-1. Newton-Conover lost 14-1 in their recent league outing against East Lincoln (Denver, NC)
