The crowd at Friday's non-league battle between the Vanguard Knights (Ocala, FL) and the host Newberry Panthers (Newberry, FL), saw Vanguard's baseball team beat Newberry by a final score of 11-3.

With the triumph, Vanguard moves its record to 8-1 on the season. The Knights travel to Lake Weir (Ocala, FL) to confront the Hurricanes in a 4A District 5 match on Monday, March 2. The Hurricanes come into the match with a record of 1-7. Lake Weir lost 10-0 in their recent non-league match against Forest (Ocala, FL)

The Panthers now possess a 6-3 record. They play next when they travel to Columbia for a non-league game on Tuesday, March 3. Newberry will face a Tigers team coming off a 5-4 non-league loss to Bartram Trail (St. Johns, FL). The Tigers record now stands at 3-4.
