Pomperaug Panthers (Southbury, CT) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting New Milford Green Wave (New Milford, CT), 53-36 in a league bout.

With the win, Pomperaug upgrades its record to 12-5 on the season. The Panthers host Newtown (Newtown, CT) to play the Nighthawks in a Southwest - Colonial bout on Monday, February 7. The Nighthawks go into the bout with a record of 12-3. Newtown won 40-16 in their recent non-league bout against East Lyme (East Lyme, CT)

Next up, the Green Wave play the Immaculate Mustangs (Danbury, CT) in a non-league bout, on Monday, February 7. New Milford will attempt to upgrade on its 7-10 season record.
