In Friday's league bout, the Grand Island Islanders (Grand Island, NE) basketball squad prevailed the host Columbus Discoverers (Columbus, NE), by a count of 56-48.

With the win, Grand Island upgrades its record to 4-14 on the season. The Islanders travel to Lincoln High (Lincoln, NE) to play the Links in a A District TBD bout on Saturday, February 4. The Links go into the bout with a record of 12-6. Lincoln High lost 73-50 in their recent league bout against Bryan (Omaha, NE)

Next up, the Discoverers play the Lincoln Southwest Silver Hawks (Lincoln, NE) in a A District TBD bout, on Saturday, February 4. Columbus will attempt to upgrade on its 5-12 season record. The Silver Hawks go into the bout with a 10-7 record after their 71-59 league win over Lincoln Northeast (Lincoln, NE).
