February 3, 2023: Weslaco, TX 78596 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Weslaco East Wildcats (Weslaco, TX) and the visiting Edcouch-Elsa Yellowjackets (Edcouch, TX), saw Weslaco East's basketball squad overcome Edcouch-Elsa by a tally of 52-39.
With the victory, Weslaco East improves its record to 21-11 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Harlingen South (Harlingen, TX) to confront the Hawks in a 5A Region IV District 32 challenge on Tuesday, February 7. The Hawks come into the challenge with a record of 19-10. Harlingen South won 65-47 in their recent league challenge against Donna (Donna, TX)
Next up, the Yellowjackets confront the Veterans Memorial Chargers (Brownsville, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 32 challenge, on Tuesday, February 7. Edcouch-Elsa will attempt to improve on its 12-22 season record. The Chargers come into the challenge with a 18-12 record after their 43-38 league loss to Pace (Brownsville, TX).
