The Midland Trail Patriots basketball team (Hico, WV), was overwhelmed 83-58 in Friday's non-league battle with the visiting Hoover Huskies (Clendenin, WV)

The Huskies now possess a 12-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Wayne for a Cardinal battle on Friday, February 10. Hoover will battle a Pioneers team coming off a 64-46 league loss to Winfield (Winfield, WV). The Pioneers record now stands at 6-10.

The Patriots (9-6) will now prepare for their battle against Nicholas County (Summersville, WV). The Grizzlies come into the Coalfield AA battle with a 8-7 record. In their last battle, Nicholas County trounced Sissonville (Charleston, WV), 61-57, in a non-league battle.
