In Friday's league outing, the Canyon Cougars (New Braunfels, TX) basketball squad beat the visiting Seguin Matadors (Seguin, TX), by a count of 35-21.

The Cougars (11-19) will now prepare for their outing against Wagner (San Antonio, TX). The Thunderbirds go into the 5A Region IV District 26 outing with a 23-4 record. In their last outing, Wagner defeated Tivy (Kerrville, TX), 69-34, in a league outing.
