Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Cushing Bearkats (Cushing, TX) and the host Overton Mustangs (Overton, TX), saw Cushing's basketball squad hold off Overton by a tally of 35-34.

With the victory, Cushing improves its record to 15-9 on the campaign. The Bearkats host Douglass (Douglass, TX) to confront the Indians in a 2A Region III District 22 challenge on Tuesday, February 7. The Indians come into the challenge with a record of 14-9. Douglass won 74-27 in their recent league challenge against Alto (Alto, TX)

Next up, the Mustangs confront the Carlisle Indians (Price, TX) in a 2A Region III District 22 challenge, on Tuesday, February 7. Overton will attempt to improve on its 14-13 season record.
