New Mexico High School Basketball - Navajo Prep nips Thoreau
February 3, 2023: Farmington, NM 87401 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Navajo Prep Eagles (Farmington, NM) and the visiting Thoreau Hawks (Thoreau, NM), saw Navajo Prep's basketball squad hold off Thoreau by a tally of 62-55.
With the victory, Navajo Prep improves its record to 19-3 on the campaign. The Eagles host Zuni (Zuni, NM) to play the Thunderbirds in a 3A District 1 challenge on Wednesday, February 8. The Thunderbirds come into the challenge with a record of 11-7. Zuni won 69-44 in their recent league challenge against Wingate (Fort Wingate, NM)
Next up, the Hawks play the Rehoboth Christian Lynx (Rehoboth, NM) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, February 6. Thoreau will attempt to improve on its 13-8 season record. The Lynx come into the challenge with a 7-10 record after their 51-30 league loss to Dulce (Dulce, NM).
