Kentucky High School Basketball - Phelps overwhelmed by Leslie County
February 3, 2024: Hyden, KY 41749 The Leslie County Eagles basketball team scored 68 points and restricted the visiting Phelps Hornets to 42 in the Eagles non-league victory on Saturday.
The Eagles now sport a 12-10 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Owsley County for a non-league contest on Monday, February 5. Leslie County will battle a Owls / Lady Owls team coming off a 72-41 non-league loss to Whitley County (Williamsburg, KY). The Owls / Lady Owls record now stands at 7-19.
The Hornets (12-9) will now prepare for their contest against Hurley (Hurley, VA). The Rebels come into the non-league contest with a 5-15 record. In their last contest, Hurley was routed by Belfry (Belfry, KY), 68-40, in a non-league contest.
