Waverly/South Shore Coyotes (Waverly, SD) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Warner Monarchs (Warner, SD), 44-40 in a league bout.

With the win, Waverly/South Shore upgrades its record to 11-5 on the season. The Coyotes host Hankinson (Hankinson, ND) to clash with the Pirates in a non-league bout on Thursday, February 8. The Pirates go into the bout with a record of 14-2. Hankinson won 67-51 in their recent league bout against Tri-State co-op [Rosholt/Fairmount/Campbell-Tintah] (Rosholt, SD)

Next up, the Monarchs clash with the Redfield Pheasants (Redfield, SD) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, February 6. Warner will attempt to upgrade on its 8-9 season record. The Pheasants go into the bout with a 1-12 record after their 79-42 league loss to Webster (Webster, SD).
