Kentucky High School Basketball - Barren County thwarts Cumberland County
February 3, 2025: Burkesville, KY 42717 The crowd at Monday's non-league challenge between the Barren County Trojans (Glasgow, KY) and the host Cumberland County Panthers (Burkesville, KY), observed Barren County's basketball team knock off Cumberland County by a score of 68-60.
The Trojans (15-9) will now prepare for their challenge against Franklin-Simpson (Franklin, KY). The Wildcats come into the non-league challenge with a 5-12 record. In their last challenge, Franklin-Simpson prevailed over Todd County Central (Elkton, KY), 77-50, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the Panthers encounter the Metcalfe County Hornets (Edmonton, KY) in a District 16 challenge, on Friday, February 7. Cumberland County will attempt to improve on its 11-8 season record. The Hornets come into the challenge with a 7-14 record after their 87-78 league loss to Russell County (Russell Springs, KY).
