The Marfa Shorthorns (Marfa, TX) basketball edged the host Balmorhea Bears (Balmorhea, TX), 48-43 in Tuesday's league bout.

The Shorthorns now possess a 4-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host Big Bend for a 1A Region II District 9 test on Friday, February 6. Marfa will encounter a Roadrunners squad coming off a 37-30 league loss to Fort Davis (Fort Davis, TX). The Roadrunners record now stands at 4-6.

The Bears (11-6) will now prepare for their test against Fort Davis (Fort Davis, TX). The Indians come into the 1A Region II District 9 test with a 2-7 record.
